There’s a lot of trust in a relationship with a janitorial service. You give them access to your office or building – often after hours. How do you know they’re doing what they’re supposed to do? Here’s a list of 6 signs we thank are important to look out for.
1. Are areas hidden from view cleaned?
Check behind computer workstations on desks or behind the microwave in the break room. Are these areas clean or does it look like they just wiped around them?
2. Are all trash containers emptied?
Are small or out-of-the-way trash containers emptied during each cleaning?
3. Are restroom supplies regularly stocked or refilled?
Your janitorial service should make sure that your employees always have soap, hand towels when they use the restroom.
4. Are they on time and meeting the schedule?
This can be hard to monitor if your janitorial service comes after normal working hours. But it’s worth it to periodically have somebody check to see if they’re showing up when they’re supposed to be.
5. Does your service have staffing challenges?
Another thing to look out for is a service that has trouble with their employees. This usually results in scheduled cleanings being missed because an employee didn’t show-up. Or it could mean that they have a lot of turnover impacting the consistent quality of their work.
6. Do they communicate well and respond to concerns?
Does your service initiate communications or are you always contacting them? When you reach out to them do they respond quickly. And, if they do, do they take care of the reason you contacted them?
At Cross Town Cleaning we consistently monitor the quality and dependability of our teams. Our clients hire us to make sure employees and guests always feel they’re in a clean and healthy environment.
